Measuring items: Driving condition: at 100V / 400 Hz, sine wave 25°C, 65% RH, under 2 Lux Brightness & colour spectrum vary according to Frequency: the higher the frequency, the higher the brightness. However, colour spectrum remains stable between 60Hz~400Hz. Interestingly, the human eye does not perceive same brightness of each colour with same intensity. Colours in the 520nm~620nm are seen much brighter. Colour matching of LCD part & Keypad part is also essential to avoid colour distortion due to LCD acting as filter.

Inverter: EL Lamps operate on alternating current. If direct current is used, an Inverter is required. SEIKO Precision offers besides standard transformer Inverters and high efficiency IC Inverters also individually designed types.
EL Transformers are generally adopted for large EL panels (over 100 cm2) or for applications requiring High Brightness (over 50cd/m2). However, EL Driver ICs are usually used for smaller EL films (up to 100 cm) because of their compact size, greater design flexibility & price. SEIKO Precision E.L Div. develops its own EL Driver ICs in collaboration with SEIKO Precision Semiconductor Division.
