SEIKO Precision unveiled more than 10 years ago an innovative screen-printing process for the fabrication of Electro-luminescent (EL) films, Lumi-Sheet®. 5 years ago, SEIKO Precision was again in the forefront of EL technology by launching its ULTRA-THIN EL film based on proprietary screen-printing & crystal binding process. In 1998, SEIKO Precision attained World recognition for its second generation with enhanced performance & creative design possibilities.

How does it work?

Lumi-Sheet® is a multi Layer material containing special fluorescent dyes dispersed in a binder with a high dielectric constant. When alternating current is applied, the sheet emits cold light.

fish Feature:

  • Thin Type EL (t>= 0,17mm)
  • Low current consumption: 1mA/cm2
  • Wide range of colours: 14 colours (standard)
  • Multi-segmental and -colour luminescence possible
  • Accurate & precise printing of luminous area (120 DPI resolution)

Application

  • Backlighting for LCDs
  • Panel illumination of portable equipment, as PDAs, Pagers and Mobilphones
  • Light source and back lighting for meter panels
  • Signage Lighting, POP

Inverter:

EL Lamps operate on alternating current. If direct current is used, an Inverter is required. SEIKO Precision offers besides standard transformer Inverters and high efficiency IC Inverters also individually designed types. Please ask for details.
